I have a bachelor's in business administration with an emphasis in finance. I also have a JD in LM and international taxation. We specialize in international taxation, including tax issues facing US citizens and resident aliens living abroad, expatriation, investing or doing business abroad, and foreign investment in the United States. So, before we dive into what the streamlined procedures are, we're briefly going to talk about who US tax laws pertain to. The people that we're going to be talking about that could use or take advantage of the streamlined filing procedures are US taxpayers. US taxpayers are basically US citizens, US permanent residents who are green card holders, or those meeting the substantial presence test. The substantial presence test is basically where you can become a US resident just by spending too much time in the US.
